Fat Tuesday Social Supports William Carey

The Mississippi Society of Georgia gathered for a social at Smokebelly BBQ in Buckhead on Tuesday, February 28th. Since most of Georgia does not do Fat Tuesday, it was a perfect time to gather with fellow alumni and other Mississippi friends to show 'em how it's done. We welcomed out of town guests in representatives from William Carey who explained how devastating the recent tornado had been to their campus. The event raised $1,000.00 which was immediately presented to William Carey to assist their students with expenses resulting from the tornado. Check out more pictures from the event under the Photos section. This is an annual event so make plans to join us next year!

Society Presents Check to Governor Bryant

On Monday, May 4, 2015, representatives from the Mississippi Society of Georgia met with Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant and presented a check for $12,000 representing the funds raised from Mississippi Weekend 2014. We are proud to be the only Mississippi Picnic group that sends funds directly back to the state of Mississippi in the form of scholarships. Your participation in the golf tournament and purchasing prize pack tickets contribute directly to this total. Let's make the 2015 check even bigger!
