Welcome to the Mississippi Society of Georgia
The Mississippi Society of Georgia is pleased to announce that we are entering our 9th year of awarding a scholarship. This award is a $1,000 scholarship for a 2019 Georgia high school graduate beginning their freshman year at a Mississippi school. The application deadline passed on May 1st. The applications are in and the scholarship committee will be announcing a winner at the picnic. Click the image at right or select the Scholarship menu item above to get details and see previous winners.
We are working on all the details for the 10th Mississippi in the Park at Chastain Park. Details will be posted to the event page as they are finalized. We will have a Braves night on Friday the 14th as they face the Philadelphia Phillies. Braves tickets in our allotment are sold out. We will have extra catfish/chicken plates and t-shirts on sale at the event.
A few of us gathered for a Spring Social @ Taco Mac Lindbergh on March 20th. Our beneficiary for the evening was Atlanta Community Food Bank. Canned goods and $75 was given for the cause. Congratulations to our door prize winners!

On Monday, May 4, 2015, representatives from the Mississippi Society of Georgia met with Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant and presented a check for $12,000 representing the funds raised from Mississippi Weekend 2014. We are proud to be the only Mississippi Picnic group that sends funds directly back to the state of Mississippi in the form of scholarships. Your participation in the golf tournament and purchasing prize pack tickets contribute directly to this total. Let's make the 2015 check even bigger!
