We started out on Friday, June 5th, with the 3rd Annual Alumni & Celebrity Golf Tournament. The event raised nearly $7,500 for scholarships with 49 players.

That evening we had the Mississippi night at the Atlanta Braves vs. Pittsburgh Pirates with a pre-game social in the Hank Aaron Room. We filled our 75 seats and each person receieved a commemorative Mississippi Society of Georgia stainless steel water bottle.

Saturday, we headed back to Chastain Park in Buckhead for the main event picnic. We had nearly 500 people attend to have some delicious catfish and chicken plates prepared by Penn's all the way from Mississippi. This year's entertainment included some familiar faces as we welcomed back The Shufflejunkies with a special appearance by Lady D. We were happy to see the alumni representatives at the picnic from Delta State, Mississippi College, Mississippi Delta Community College, Mississippi State, Mississippi University for Women, Ole Miss, & Southern Miss. Our prize baskets generated $900 for our scholarship and we sent $400 to the Officers Deen & Tate Scholarship Fund in Hattiesburg. We welcomed Linda Theobald from Mississippi who created our 2015 artwork and hosted a booth of her works at the picnic.

Congratulations to Claire Williams, a graduate of Columbus High School, who was the winner of the 2015 scholarship for $1,000. She will be attending Mississippi State in the fall semester.
